How it works

Four seats. One plan. One night.

Hyper-specific by design — not "boardgames," Monopoly. Not "drinks," coffee or beer. Cliqes are real plans, not vibes.

  1. 01

    Pick a plan.

A spot opens, you take it. $2 confirms — that fee stays with us. $8 sits as a deposit.

  2. 02

    Show up.

Your phone marks you in once you arrive. Or any of the four can mark someone in. No host-only rituals.

  3. 03

    Get the $8 back.

After the cutoff, refunds sweep automatically. If you skipped, the $8 stays with us.

  4. 04

    Plan the next one.

Add the people you actually liked as friends — but only after you've shared a Cliqe. Then plan the next one.

The deposit

We hold $8 until you show.
Show, get it back. Skip, we keep it.

The $2 fee is what keeps CliqeUp running. The $8 is yours, returned the moment we know you showed up. We don't redistribute deposits. We don't hold them as credit. The whole point is that everyone shows.

Where

The Triangle, in 2026.

Launching across the Raleigh-Durham metro — Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, Apex, Morrisville, Holly Springs, and RTP. One metro, on purpose. A handful of plans a week, the right size for people to actually meet. We'll add metros when the four-person night feels routine — not before.

Questions

A few things people ask.

If something's missing, email hello@cliqeup.com.

Why four people?

Three feels like a third wheel. Five doesn't fit at a small table. Four is the smallest group that still feels like a group, and the largest that still feels like a real conversation.

Do I have to know anyone?

No. Most plans fill with people who don't know each other yet. You can also start a plan and invite a friend — the other two seats can come from the waitlist.

Is this a dating app?

No. Friends-only by design. You can only message someone after you've actually been to a Cliqe together. The opposite of a group chat.

What if a plan doesn't fill?

If the four seats aren't taken by the cutoff, no one is charged the $8 — and we tell you what to do next. The fee stays with us either way.

Where can I use it?

The Triangle first, in 2026 — Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, Apex, Morrisville, Holly Springs, and RTP. Other metros follow once the model holds.
